Current activities

Laura has been working in the UK wind energy industry for five years. She is currently a wind energy specialist at the Met Office in Exeter, providing services to the renewables sector.  

Developing techniques to use the Met Office's numerical weather prediction data to provide wind resource assessments to Renewable energy companies, she is a strong advocate of mesoscale models as long-term reference datasets.  

Career background

Laura studied Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College, London and holds an MSc in New & Renewable Energy from Durham University. After her studies she spent three years as Wind Resource Analyst at Ecotricity, UK, during which she was closely involved with the implementation of wind monitoring campaigns, resource assessment and wind turbine micrositing.
