Fundamentally, the weather warnings have remained the same - they will continue to be issued when the weather has the potential to cause impacts. However, we have listened to your feedback and have implemented some improvements to the way that we produce, disseminate and communicate warnings, which you have seen on Hazard Manager. These improvements include:

  • introducing two additional warning types – thunderstorms and lightning
  • extending the lead time of warnings from five days out to seven days
  • improving the language we use to communicate risk, including severe weather and impacts
  • improving the visual design of the warnings to make them easier to understand

How do I see the warnings in force for days six and seven?

You can now scroll through the thumbnail maps by clicking on the arrows to the right or left of the maps.

How do I know if there are warnings in force for days six and seven?
