Feeling warmer and more humid during the coming days
Warmer weather with some sunny spells is likely on Tuesday and Wednesday, before the arrival of some more impactful weather later in the week.
Tuesday will see patchy light rain across the south this morning, which will become restricted to the far south later in the afternoon.
Elsewhere, increasing amount of sunshine will develop throughout the day, with temperatures generally up from recent days, likely peaking around 24°C in eastern Wales and eastern England.
Wednesday’s weather will see initial morning cloud reduce through the day, leaving a largely dry and sunny day for many, albeit with some isolated showers in western areas. Temperatures will continue to rise, possibly peaking at 27°C in central England.
However, the warmer air will result in some more unsettled weather later this week, as Met Office Meteorologist and Presenter Aidan McGivern explained: “It’s going to turn even more humid as we go through Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as this plume of humid hair is drawn our way from the continent.
“As the humidity climbs, we also see low pressure approach from the west which will destabilise the whole set-up, leading to – later this week – the risk of some very energetic thunderstorms.”
