Met Office daily weather: Cooler with patchy rain
The weather is set to bring a mix of sunshine, cooler temperatures, and patchy rain over Thursday and Friday according to the latest forecast.
Thursday will begin with a few fog patches in the west and southwest, which are expected to clear quickly, giving way to sunny spells. However, a band of thicker cloud and some rain will move southward across northern and eastern England. This may lead to a few showers redeveloping in the far south during the afternoon. Northern areas will enjoy sunny intervals, although the far northeast may see scattered showers.
Temperatures will be noticeably cooler across much of the country, except for the southwest, where warm conditions will persist. Locations such as Plymouth could see highs of 22–23°C, offering a brief taste of summer warmth.

Thursday night will bring largely dry conditions with clear skies and light winds for most areas. However, the far northeast may continue to experience some cloud and showers. Fog patches may form in the far southwest, and rural areas, particularly in the north, could see a touch of frost as temperatures dip further.
Friday will start cold, with widespread clear skies overnight allowing frost to form in rural regions. Any early mist or fog, mainly in the southwest, will quickly lift, revealing a fine day with abundant sunshine for many. As the day progresses, cloud will increase from the west, bringing outbreaks of rain eastward during the afternoon and evening. The southeast is expected to remain dry.
Winds will be mostly light, though they may freshen later in the day. Despite the chilly start, daytime temperatures will rise into the low 20s in sunny areas, making for a pleasant end to the working week.
Met Office presenter and meteorologist, Alex Burkill, said: "Thursday fewer showers on offer it's a drier day but still a few showers dotted around and the winds coming in from the north. Into Thursday, a bit chilly in some places, it is going to be pretty fresh, pretty chilly for quite a few places We could even have a touch of frost.

"We're so close to the start of meteorological summer And yet I'm talking about the fact that there could be a little bit of frost in places when we wake up on Friday morning Mainly rural spots not your towns and cities.
"Most places most built up areas are going to hold up several degrees above freezing, but there is the potential for a touch of frost first thing on Friday morning. Not great news for gardeners, especially with all the dry weather, albeit there is some rain to come through the next week or so."
