Met Office weather for London: Mostly fine with scattered rain
As the week winds down, London’s weather is set to shift. Here’s what you need to know before stepping out on Thursday and Friday.
Londoners can look forward to a largely pleasant spell of weather as we head into the latter part of the week, with sunshine dominating the skies and temperatures on the rise.
Thursday will begin and end on a bright note, with plenty of sunshine bookending the day. However, a cloudier period is expected to develop during the middle of the day, bringing a slight interruption to the otherwise sunny conditions. While most areas will remain dry, there is a chance of isolated afternoon showers, particularly across southern parts of the capital. Despite the brief cloudier interlude, it will feel rather warm, with temperatures climbing to a comfortable high of around 18°C.

Outlook for Friday
Friday promises to be even more favourable. The day will start mostly clear and sunny, although early risers may encounter a few patches of mist or fog. These will quickly lift after daybreak, giving way to a fine day with plenty of sunshine. Some cloud will drift in as the day progresses, but it will remain largely dry and bright. The warmer air mass will make its presence felt, with temperatures potentially reaching a balmy 21°C—making it one of the warmest days of the week so far.
Overall, the outlook is encouraging for those planning outdoor activities or commuting across the city. With only a slight risk of showers on Thursday and mostly dry, sunny conditions on Friday, it’s a great time to enjoy the early signs of summer in the capital.

Met Office presenter and meteorologist, Alex Burkill, said: "Thursday fewer showers on offer it's a drier day but still a few showers dotted around. It will be a bit chilly in some areas, it is going to be pretty fresh, pretty chilly for quite a few places We could even have a touch of frost.
"We're so close to the start of meteorological summer And yet I'm talking about the fact that there could be a little bit of frost in places when we wake up on Friday morning Mainly rural spots not your towns and cities.
"Most places most built up areas are going to hold up several degrees above freezing, but there is the potential for a touch of frost first thing on Friday morning. Not great news for gardeners, especially with all the dry weather, albeit there is some rain to come through the next week or so."
