Dr Joe Eyles

of Sussex in the UK. During his MMath he worked with the University of Portsmouth, UK, in the field of human-computer interaction. Between finishing his MMath and starting his Ph.D. Joe worked as a mobile app developer. After completing his Ph.D. Joe worked as an R&D Engineer at BBC R&D, in the fields of 5G and Object-based media.  Joe joined the Met Office in 2020.

Private Weather Diaries

The diary for Stroud records Nelson's victory and death at the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805 whilst that of Francis Beaufort records the arrival of his body at Portsmouth on board HMS Victory.
