As the Premier League returns for another action-packed weekend, fans and players alike will be keeping a close eye on the skies.

Here’s the weather outlook for each fixture, so you can plan your matchday experience with confidence.

Friday 24 October

Leeds United v West Ham United (20:00, Elland Road)

Expect cloud and rain, at times heavy, moving in from the northeast and extending south into England during the evening. The rain will gradually clear into the North Sea later, but it will remain windy with gales possible along North Sea coasts. Spectators should prepare for wet and blustery conditions, with patchy frost possible in northern areas by the end of the night.

Saturday 25 October

Chelsea v Sunderland (15:00, Stamford Bridge)

A mostly dry and sunny afternoon is expected for central and eastern areas, including London. Coastal areas exposed to the north and west may see showers, but these are less likely to affect Stamford Bridge. Breezy conditions will persist, and it will feel cold, so layering up is advisable.

Newcastle United v Fulham (15:00, St. James' Park)

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain at times in the far northeast, which could affect Newcastle. Showers may be heavy but less frequent than Friday. Breezy with a risk of gales along North Sea coasts. Feeling cold, so fans should dress warmly.

Manchester United v Brighton & Hove Albion (17:30, Old Trafford)

Mostly dry and sunny for central areas, with breezy conditions. Showers are more likely in coastal regions, but Manchester should remain largely dry. Temperatures will be on the cold side, especially as winds pick up.

Brentford v Liverpool (20:00, Brentford Community Stadium)

Showers may continue across western parts, but Brentford is likely to see mainly dry and clear conditions by the evening. Breezy for most, with gales possible along North Sea coasts. Chilly with patchy frost, especially in the north and over higher ground.

Sunday 26 October

Aston Villa v Manchester City (14:00, Villa Park)

Most places will start dry with clear or sunny periods, but showers will feed into northern and western coastal areas. Cloud will increase from the west, with outbreaks of rain moving southeastwards later in the day. Windy at first, with early gales for much of the North Sea coast, but winds will moderate as the day progresses.

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (14:00, Emirates Stadium)

Dry at first with sunny spells, but cloud will steadily increase from the west. Outbreaks of rain are expected to arrive later, so spectators should be prepared for changing conditions. Winds will be brisk, especially earlier in the day.

AFC Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest (14:00, Vitality Stadium)

A dry start with clear periods, but showers may develop in coastal areas. Cloud will increase from the west, with rain likely later in the day. Breezy conditions will persist, so a light jacket is recommended.

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Burnley (14:00, Molineux Stadium)

Dry and sunny at first, but cloud and rain will move in from the west as the day progresses. Winds will strengthen, making it feel colder, especially in exposed areas.

Everton v Tottenham Hotspur (16:30, Hill Dickinson Stadium)

A dry but generally cloudy start, with some brighter spells possible. Winds will increase as rain approaches from the west later in the day. Supporters should be prepared for the possibility of rain and stronger winds as they leave the stadium.

Across all fixtures this weekend, the weather is set to be largely dry, with a mix of cloud and occasional bright or sunny intervals. The main theme will be increasing cloud and strengthening breezes as the weekend progresses, particularly from the west. Temperatures will be mild, ranging from 14°C to 17°C, but it may feel cooler in exposed areas or as winds pick up.

For those attending matches, it’s advisable to dress in layers and bring a light jacket or jumper, especially for later kick-offs or if you’re seated in open stands. While rain is not expected to disrupt play during most matches, there is a risk of showers, particularly in the west and towards the end of Saturday’s fixtures. Winds will strengthen, so be prepared for a brisk feel, especially in northern and western venues.
