Today:

Early fog patches clearing to sunny spells, although feeling rather cool. Becoming increasingly cloudy and showery, with isolated sharp showers in the afternoon, a low risk of thunder. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Any lingering showers soon easing through the early evening. Driest near coasts where skies clear first. Patchy cloud and isolated showers overnight. A frost possible by dawn. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Saturday:

A dry and bright start with isolated light showers. Cloud increasing from the south through the afternoon with patches of rain. Heavy rain possible by the end of the night. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

A spell of heavy rain initially Sunday, replaced by sunny spells later. Breezy Monday, but largely dry with sunny intervals. Sunny spells and scattered heavy showers Tuesday. Increasingly mild.

UK long range weather forecast

In the first part of this period, many areas of the UK are expected to see periods of rain or showers. Some of these showers will be heavy and thundery, with the greatest chance of thunderstorms in the southeast. Along with this will be a fair amount of low cloud in the east at times, with spells of coastal fog, but also temperatures generally above average for the time of year. Overall, northwestern parts of the UK are likely to be driest and sunniest. Through the second week, temperatures will return closer to normal, perhaps dipping back below average, but it will also tend to turn gradually drier and more settled, with changeable conditions most likely to hang on longest in the south and southeast.

In this period, the chances of unsettled weather are slightly less than usual in the north and about the same as usual further south. Therefore, some spells of wetter weather are likely for all, but perhaps especially southern areas with the driest conditions probably further north. Temperatures probably near average though with some cooler interludes possible. Also worth noting that average temperatures themselves rise by around 1C per week at this time of year.
