South West England weather forecast

Headline:

Dry with clear spells overnight. Some mist and fog patches.

This Evening and Tonight:

A fine end to the day, with plenty of evening sunshine. Dry with clear spells overnight. Perhaps a few mist and fog patches forming briefly around dawn in prone rural spots. A milder night compared to previous night for most. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Friday:

Largely dry during the day, with bright or warm sunny spells, especially in the east. Turning increasingly cloudy, with outbreaks of rain reaching western parts during the afternoon. Maximum temperature 22 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Early cloud and rain clearing to leave a mostly fine and dry conditions Saturday. Fine and dry, with hazy sunny spells Sunday and Monday. Murky along coasts. Warm and humid.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

Predominantly fine and settled at first for much of the country and much warmer than we have seen in recent weeks. However, some thicker cloud could bring some outbreaks of mostly light to northwestern areas. There is some uncertainty in how long this warm, settled weather will persist over the UK and there is a chance that conditions could transition back closer to average towards the end of next week. This transition brings with it the risk of some showers or longer periods of rain and potentially some thunderstorms, particularly in the south, from the end of next week. However, the remainder of the period is more likely to be settled with temperatures above average.

Updated:

Signals for this period are fairly weak and thus, it's difficult to say if any one type of weather pattern will dominate. As such, typical conditions for the UK are most probable with a mixture of weather types. All areas can expected to see some spells of drier, sunnier weather, but there will also be showers or longer spells of rain at times. Currently the only signals, weak as they are, hint that rain and showers will tend to be more biased towards the north and west, with any more prolonged drier interludes favouring the south. Temperatures are slightly more likely than normal to be above average, than below.
