Today:

A bright start with some sunny spells but also some showers, these locally heavy and possibly thundery, especially around the Bristol Channel at first. The showers will become more isolated during the afternoon, with more in the way of sunshine. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

Isolated showers and long clear periods this evening and overnight, with showers mainly confined to coastal areas. With winds easing it will turn chilly in some rural spots by morning. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Tuesday:

It will turn cloudier through the morning with some outbreaks of rain spreading from the west. The rain turns showery in the afternoon, with some sunny intervals developing. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Sunny spells and a few showers on Wednesday. Cloudier on Thursday with occasional showers. Drier, brighter and warmer on Friday with sunny spells.

Further spells of rain likely to affect northwestern parts of the UK during Friday, especially over higher ground. Elsewhere, largely dry with sunny spells. Into the weekend there is a lot of uncertainty at this stage, but will probably see the unsettled weather continuing across the far north and northwest, with drier and brighter conditions elsewhere. Temperatures will generally be above average. During the remainder of the month high pressure is likely to remain close by, bringing periods of settled weather and warmer conditions, especially across southern areas, with although the chance of some thundery showers moving up from the near continent. Northern parts of the UK may see further spells of wet and windy weather at times.

Southern areas are most likely to see the driest and sunniest weather at first, perhaps with some lingering wet and potentially windy conditions affecting the north. However, longer spells of dry and sunny weather may occasionally develop across all parts. Temperatures are generally likely to be warmer than average, although there is little indication of anything exceptional at this time.
