London & South East England weather forecast

Headline:

Fine evening. Cloud building overnight with patchy rain in places.

This Evening and Tonight:

Any showers soon die away to leave a widely fine and dry evening. Later tonight high cloud will build, thickening to give some patchy light rain across southern areas in the early hours. Winds falling generally light. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Sunday:

A cloudy morning with rain widely across southern areas. Rain is expected to clear to the south to leave a drier and gradually brightening afternoon, especially north of London. Warm. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Coastal rain Monday, otherwise dry and bright. Early fog Tuesday, then fine but increasingly windy. A band of rain, locally heavy, gradually moves eastwards through Wednesday. Mild or very mild.

UK long range weather forecast

A north/south split in weather conditions is likely over the latter part of next week, with rain and showers affecting the north, while the south holds on to drier weather. It may be windy at times, especially across the north and northwest, where gales are possible. Temperatures close to normal in the north and feeling rather mild in the south. Unsettled weather continues for many into the following week, with showers in northern areas likely to spread southwards. High pressure may develop across the UK throughout the rest of the period, with occasional frontal systems bringing some periods of rain. However, towards the end of the period, deep lower pressure is expected. Temperatures generally returning to above normal, however, cooler nights could make way for potential mist and fog.

Updated:

We may see lower pressure dominating through the rest of October. This lower pressure regime is likely to bring periods of rain across the UK, but some drier spells and potential mist and fog can be expected too, most likely at the beginning of the period. Temperatures likely to remain above normal throughout.
