Headline:

A lot of fine weather over the next few days.

Overnight frost and fog will gradually lift on Monday morning to leave another fine day. There will be plenty of sunshine during the morning, which may turn hazier later. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Tuesday and Wednesday look dry with some sunny or clear spells, although fog and frost will return overnight. Light rain is possible on Thursday morning, ahead of a sunnier afternoon.

UK long range weather forecast

On Friday, cloud and rain are expected in northern areas, accompanied by windy conditions, with a risk of coastal gales and fog overnight. Southern areas will be mainly dry and brighter with lighter wind, although some drizzle is possible at times in western areas. Into the weekend high pressure in the southeast and low pressure in the northwest will lead to a continuation of this north to south split in conditions across the UK. For the rest of the period, there will likely be a continuation of predominantly dry and settled weather across most parts of the UK, especially the south. Some rain and strong winds are likely in the northwest at times. Temperatures overall likely to be close to average.

Updated:

During the period, generally settled weather conditions are expected across the UK. Frontal systems bringing rain and strong winds are expected in the northwest, perhaps spreading further into the southeast at times, although much of the south and southeast may stay largely dry. Temperatures overall will be above normal, with a small chance of colder conditions.
