A mix of clear spells and patchy cloud tonight, with a risk of showers which could turn wintry at times over hills. Light winds to start but turning breezier overnight. Feeling colder, especially in the wind. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Sunday:

A largely dry and bright day with perhaps the odd wintry shower possible, especially in the afternoon. Breezy to start but winds easing. Feeling cooler than of late. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Frosty starts on Monday and Tuesday but largely dry and bright, until rain arrives during Tuesday. Turning milder from midweek with a damp day on Wednesday and strengthening winds.

These showers may be locally heavy, with thunderstorms possible. Ending the week and into the weekend, conditions likely remaining unsettled with showers or rain for many, also likely windy with a risk of coastal gales. This theme is predicted to continue, with southern and eastern areas likely drier, although a chance of showers or rain remains here. A continued risk of strong winds, with a low risk of gales, mainly in the west. Temperatures are expected to be generally above normal, although colder conditions may linger in the far north and northeast.

A general trend to less unsettled conditions is likely into April. Still some wetter weather at times, tending towards the south. However, most areas are likely to see some spells of dry weather, with potentially frost and some fog overnight. A possibility of strong winds at times, with temperatures generally close to average for the time of year.
