Today:

It will be mainly dry with bright and sunny spells, although cloudier at first across Argyll with the odd shower possible. Breezy, winds fresh to strong at times around the west coast and over the islands. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Dry and bright at first this evening before rain pushes into the west coast, extending inland during the early hours, heavy at times. Mainly dry with clear spells by dawn. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Thursday:

Mainly dry and bright with some sunny spells and feeling quite warm in any sunshine. Isolated showers possible, most likely over the hills. Breezy around the coast. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Bright with scattered showers on Friday, merging into longer spells of rain in the evening. Bright spells and occasional showers on Saturday. Showers, perhaps longer spells of rain on Sunday.

UK long range weather forecast

On Sunday and into the start of next week, southern parts of the UK likely staying mostly fine and dry with light winds. Still a chance of showers, and a low risk that some of these will be heavy at times. Further north it is likely to be cloudier and breezier, particularly around coasts, with showers that could merge into some longer spells of rain. Temperatures close to average, but perhaps below average in the northwest, though it will still feel warm in the sunshine. Towards the end of next week, rain or showers are possible, most likely in the northeast by this stage, where it will be breezy. Drier further southwest with lighter winds. Most areas becoming mainly dry through the end of May.

Into June, temperatures are likely to be above average across the south but closer to average further north. Toward mid-June it may turn less settled across the north of the UK, bringing rain or showers, while the south may remain largely fine.
