Any lingering showers dying off through the first part of this evening, then dry with clear spells. Perhaps turning a little cloudier in the east by dawn. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Friday:

Mostly dry on Friday with some sunshine and just a few showers. Best of sunshine will be over Argyll with cloudier skies over Lanarkshire. Staying mild with moderate easterly winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Mainly dry and fine on Saturday, perhaps some light rain in the west. Cloudy on Sunday with patchy light rain, clearing to sunny spells later. Dry and fine on Monday.

UK long range weather forecast

The start of this period is likely to be rather changeable, with weather systems moving in from the west to bring showers and longer spells of rain. Drier, brighter interludes are expected at times, however these may be short-lived as further bands of rain move in. Wettest conditions are most likely across southern and western parts of the UK, while the north and east are expected to remain drier. The latter part of this period looks to become more settled, particularly in northern parts where there is potential for high pressure to take over. Further south, more wetter interludes are expected. Stronger winds at times, although temperatures remaining close to average. There is a chance of cooler conditions and overnight frosts where skies clear in the north and east.

This period has potential to see a split in conditions between the north and south of the UK. Any unsettled weather is more likely to take a southerly track, while higher pressure to the north should provide generally drier weather. Overall, somewhere drier in comparison to March across the country. Temperatures are uncertain, but there remains a chance of colder conditions, especially to the north and east where overnight frost risk remains.
