A cold start this morning. Then it will be a mainly dry day with sunny spells, perhaps with the odd light shower across Argyll this afternoon. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

A dry start this evening. Cloud and outbreaks of rain will spread to the west coast this evening, then to remaining areas overnight. Becoming windy along the Argyll coast. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Saturday:

Mainly dry in the morning, some patchy rain across Argyll. Outbreaks of rain will spread east in the afternoon. Fresh to strong southerly winds along the coasts. A warmer day. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Dry with some sunshine on Sunday, perhaps a few showers across Argylll. Dry with bright spells early next week, becoming quite warm in any sunshine.

Cloud and outbreaks of rain are expected to affect some northern areas for a time on Tuesday, with dry and sunny conditions further south. Through the rest of next week high pressure will become more dominant, with dry and often sunny conditions spreading across the majority of the UK. Winds could be fairly strong at times in the south, with some overnight mist and fog in parts of the north. Temperatures during the day will likely be above average in many areas, although some cold nights are possible in places. A similar pattern will probably persist through the following week, although by late September there is a chance that more unsettled conditions may begin to develop.

Typical Autumn weather will probably affect the UK with a mix of weather types during late September and early October. Periods of wet, unsettled weather will likely be broken up by some spells of more settled, drier weather. Overall, the wettest conditions will probably be in the west with the east drier. Temperatures are most likely to be close to or slightly above average.
