A dry, bright start but cloud thickening from west with rain extending northeast from mid morning. Some heavy bursts in places. Becoming breezy, especially over Kintyre and the Isles. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Cloudy start with patchy rain on Friday, brightening up with heavy showers later. The weekend unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain, but some sunshine too.

At first, the weather across the UK is likely to continue to be a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers, with some longer spells of rain also possible.
