Morning cloud and rain then becoming brighter late-morning with scattered, blustery showers following in behind, some of which will be heavy. Strong westerly winds so feeling cooler; even in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

A few showers continuing overnight however there will be some clear spells too, feeling particularly cool in strong westerly winds. Cloud increasing towards dawn and a wet start on Thursday. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Thursday:

Early cloud and rain will clear to leave a brighter day but strengthening winds once again. A few blustery afternoon showers, heavy with some hail for Argyll. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Showery at first on Friday but winds easing and becoming dry and bright with lighter winds for Saturday and Sunday, cloud thickening at times but some sunshine likely.

Moderate to fresh northerly winds will make for cool temperatures in the north and east, with elsewhere remaining around average for the time of year. Into the beginning of next week it will likely be mainly fine and dry, but occasional rain and showers for some. Feeling warm in any sunshine. Towards the bank holiday weekend this pattern is likely to continue, with some dry weather and sunny spells, but also some more unsettled and wet conditions developing for some parts of the UK. Any stronger winds likely easing and temperatures likely remaining around average for most.

This period is likely to bring generally settled conditions, with most areas being drier than average overall. Winds will probably be generally light, although the odd spell of stronger winds will still be possible. Temperatures possibly warmer than average, although colder conditions could extend from the northeast at times.
