Cloud over Glasgow and Lanarkshire will nudge into northern Ayrshire and parts of Kintyre. Staying clear over western Argyll and the Islands with winds light. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Saturday:

Cloudy at first over Glasgow and the Central Belt, but some brightness may develop for a time in the afternoon. Bright with warm sunshine for Argyll, Ayrshire and the Islands Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Any low cloud on Sunday should soon clear leaving sunny spells. Change expected from Monday with low cloud clearing but feeling cooler with the odd shower.

The period is expected to begin on an unsettled note, with a spell of cloud, wind and rain sweeping across much of the UK. Rain is likely to be heavy in places, and there is a small chance that the winds could end up strong enough to cause some disruption. An exception to this may well be the far north of the UK, which could remain in a colder, more showery regime from earlier in the week. Winds are expected to turn towards the north following this, with the colder, showery type spreading countrywide, before easing through the weekend as a more settled spell develops. The following week is likely to stay fairly unsettled or at least changeable for all, with temperatures rising back to near average.

Typical autumn weather will probably affect the UK with a mix of weather types through the first half of October. Periods of unsettled conditions, with wind and rain at times, will likely be interspersed with shorter spells of calmer and drier weather. Overall, wetter than average conditions are expected during this period, especially in central and southern areas. Temperatures are most likely to be close to or slightly above average overall, although some cooler spells are possible at times.
