This evening will be dry and chilly, some clear periods in the east. Then some light and patchy rain will spread eastwards overnight. Freshening southerly winds along the Solway coast. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Saturday:

A mainly dry with a few sunny spells breaking through, especially along the east coast. Patchy rain will spread southeast in the evening. A warmer day. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Dry with some sunshine on Sunday. Dry with bright spells early next week, becoming quite warm in any sunshine.

Cloud and outbreaks of rain are expected to affect some northern areas for a time on Tuesday, with dry and sunny conditions further south. Through the rest of next week high pressure will become more dominant, with dry and often sunny conditions spreading across the majority of the UK. Winds could be fairly strong at times in the south, with some overnight mist and fog in parts of the north. Temperatures during the day will likely be above average in many areas, although some cold nights are possible in places. A similar pattern will probably persist through the following week, although by late September there is a chance that more unsettled conditions may begin to develop.

Typical Autumn weather will probably affect the UK with a mix of weather types during late September and early October. Periods of wet, unsettled weather will likely be broken up by some spells of more settled, drier weather. Overall, the wettest conditions will probably be in the west with the east drier. Temperatures are most likely to be close to or slightly above average.
