Cloudy and dry at first. Rain reaching Outer Hebrides later this evening, extending to all parts overnight. Drier weather following to West Coast by morning. Strong southerly winds, easing later. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Tuesday:

Damp start in south and east. Drier, brighter weather following from northwest during morning with sunny spells developing. A few light showers in Northwest. Southwest winds strengthening later. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Windy Wednesday with heavier rain later in the day along with gales, severe in northwest. Brighter, colder on Thursday with blustery showers. Cloudy, windy on Friday with patchy rain.

UK long range weather forecast

The coming weekend is expected to be mostly dry and largely cloudy, albeit with some rain at times in the far north and northwest. For the rest of the period, settled conditions overall are expected for most, bringing dry weather with sunny spells. There is a risk of overnight fog in many parts of the country, particularly in the south. Changeable weather conditions are more likely in the far north, with showers and longer spells of rain, as well as periods of stronger winds in the northwest. Temperatures overall will be mild in the north, particularly in the northwest, but near average elsewhere, with a low chance of colder conditions and frost in the south.

During the period, generally settled weather conditions are expected across the UK. Frontal systems bringing rain and strong winds are expected in the northwest, perhaps spreading further into the southeast at times, although much of the south and southeast may stay largely dry. Temperatures overall will be above normal, with a small but increasing chance of colder conditions as we move through the period.
