Any cloud will fade away during this evening with mainly clear skies overnight. A widespread frost through more central and eastern areas, but milder and breezy around the west coast. Minimum temperature -2 °C.


Bright and feeling warm in any afternoon sunshine. Cloudier at times in the far west, perhaps a little rain pushing into the Western Isles later. Breezy around the coast. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Mainly dry and bright with sunny spells on Saturday, although thicker cloud and patchy rain possible around the west coast. Cloudy with outbreaks of rain on Sunday and Monday.


UK long range weather forecast

Cloud with outbreaks of increasingly light and fragmenting rain will continue to move south-eastwards across England and Wales during Tuesday. Rain likely to decay before reaching the far southeast where conditions will remain largely dry. During the middle of next week high pressure will become dominant again, with conditions turning drier and brighter, though with the chance of a few showers. Thereafter, widely settled conditions look likely to persist with all areas mainly dry with sunny spells and a chance of morning fog patches. Likely turning warmer, but overnight frosts are still possible in rural areas though not as widespread as this week. There is still potential for rain and strong winds to occur at times towards the northwest with the possibility of these unsettled conditions briefly spreading southeast.


Mixed weather patterns, typical of spring are most likely through the end of April and into May. Overall, fine and dry weather is expected to be most dominant, with fair-weather cloud and plenty of sunny spells. However, all areas are likely to see some showers or perhaps some longer spells of rain at times. Temperatures are likely to be close to average for the time of year, with the possibility of warmer spells at times.
