Morning cloud and rain, although eastern Aberdeenshire staying dry. It will become brighter towards midday with scattered, blustery showers developing, some of which will be heavy. Strong westerly winds so feeling cooler; even in the sunshine. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

A few showers continuing overnight in the west but dry and clear in the east towards Aberdeen, feeling particularly cool in strong westerly winds. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Thursday:

Some early cloud and rain for southern Aberdeenshire, cloud breaks developing and a few blustery and potentially heavy showers especially around Moray. Feeling cold in the strong and gusty winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Showery on Friday but winds easing and becoming dry and bright with lighter winds on Saturday and Sunday, some scattered cloud but not feeling particularly warm.

Sunday is likely to bring an increased risk of rain and showers, especially across central and eastern areas. Moderate to fresh northerly winds will make for cool temperatures in the north and east, with elsewhere remaining around average for the time of year. Into the beginning of next week it will likely be mainly fine and dry, but occasional rain and showers for some. Feeling warm in any sunshine. Towards the bank holiday weekend this pattern is likely to continue, with some dry weather and sunny spells, but also some more unsettled and wet conditions developing for some parts of the UK. Any stronger winds likely easing and temperatures likely remaining around average for most.

This period is likely to bring generally settled conditions, with most areas being drier than average overall. Winds will probably be generally light, although the odd spell of stronger winds will still be possible. Temperatures possibly warmer than average, although colder conditions could extend from the northeast at times.
