Cloudy at first, the cloud slowly retreating back eastwards whilst persisting along coastal parts. Low cloud becoming less extensive than Tuesday in the afternoon, with more sunshine as a result. Warm for many but significantly cooler along coastal parts. Maximum temperature 23 °C.

Tonight:

The cloud will once again expand westwards to become widespread overnight. Turning cool under any clear spells at first but then a mild night for many under the cloud. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Thursday:

Largely cloudy initially, the cloud retreating back to the coast to allow prolonged periods of sunshine for most during the afternoon. Becoming breezy over coastal parts. Warmer than Wednesday. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Dry, largely sunny and warm on Friday but breezy. Very warm, less breezy on Saturday, with hazy sunshine. A chance of showers late and through Sunday, potentially heavy and thundery.

Later, most likely plenty of fine and settled weather with sunny and clear conditions for many parts. Likely to be warmer than normal for much of the UK. Risk of showers, possibly heavy and thundery, especially in southern parts.

This brings a greater chance of rain to the west and northwest. Most likely temperatures trending back towards average or above.
