Thicker cloud continues to spread north, with outbreaks of rain developing. Turning breezy for a time, with heavy showers possible in the south and west by dawn. Minimum temperature 14 °C.

Tuesday:

Heavy rain, persistent in places, with the chance of torrential downpours through morning. This gradually clearing north, with brighter spells, but also isolated heavy showers following later in the day. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Overnight strong winds and heavy showers, clearing early Wednesday, then brighter spells and showers. Largely dry Thursday, but turning cloudier with rain possible later. Sunshine and heavy showers following Friday.

It will probably stay changeable for the rest of the period with a mixture of some sunny days, and cloudier days with more persistent rainfall. It is likely to be windy at times, with the potential for gales, particularly in the west and southwest. Temperatures will vary around normal, but in any drier spells, they may be warmer than average.

These would bring bright days, but with the increasing risk of overnight mist, fog and some frost.
