Mainly dry this evening with some late sunshine for many. Staying largely dry overnight with clear periods and turning chilly again, especially in the countryside where a few pockets of grass frost are possible. Thickening cloud in the west later. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Thursday:

Showery rain spreading east through the morning, bringing an increasingly wet day. The heaviest rain mostly over higher ground. Becoming unseasonably windy in the west with coastal gales possible. Cooler. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

A changeable and showery period of weather, with the showers heavy and blustery at times with local thunderstorms. Some drier periods too and feeling warm in the sunnier spells.

At first, the weather across the UK is likely to continue to be a mixture of sunny spells and scattered showers, with some longer spells of rain also possible. Some showers are expected to be heavy and could be thundery at times. Temperatures will generally be around or a little below normal for mid-June, and it may well be breezy in places too.
