It will be a mainly dry and bright day, Best of the sunshine will be in the morning with more in the way cloud in the afternoon. Fresh southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Heavier rain crossing all parts during Sunday with strong southerly winds. Drier, brighter weather following for Monday and much of Tuesday.

This period is likely to be characterised by unsettled weather with showers and longer periods of rain for most. On Wednesday, rain is expected to develop across the northwest and progress southeastwards throughout the day. For the remainder of the period, further bands of rain are expected to follow across the country with blustery showers and some sunny spells between them. Overall the northwest will see heavier and more frequent rainfall, while the southeast will remain drier on average. Rain will be accompanied by strong winds and a risk of gales in exposed regions of the northwest throughout. Temperatures will generally be near normal, with occasional chilly nights and some patchy mist, but perhaps turning more generally cooler later in the period - but nothing unusual for October.

Changeable conditions are expected to continue throughout the period, with bands of rain and showers likely across most of the country. Temperatures are likely to remain near to normal overall throughout. However, there is an increasing chance of some more settled weather from late October, although it may also be accompanied by colder conditions with mist, fog and frost.
