UK long range weather forecast

On Wednesday, a band of cloud and outbreaks of light rain or drizzle in central areas at first, moving northwards later. A clearer and colder day in the south, with sunny spells, however isolated fog or freezing fog here initially. Ending the week, a southeast and northwest split is predicted, with high pressure in the southeast and low in the northwest. This would likely lead to dry weather and sunny spells in the southeast, with cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the northwest, also a risk of coastal gales here. This pattern is predicted to continue further into the period, with dry and settled weather for many parts of the UK much of the time. Temperatures rather mild in the north but closer to average in the south.

Updated:

During the period, generally settled weather conditions are expected across the UK. Frontal systems bringing rain and strong winds are expected in the northwest, perhaps spreading further into the southeast at times, although much of the south and southeast may stay largely dry. Temperatures overall will be above normal, with a small chance of colder conditions.
