South West England weather forecast

Headline:

Fine and dry with some warm, hazy sunshine.

Today:

A pleasant end to the week with lots of dry weather and some sunny spells, though high cloud turning this a little hazy at times. Light winds and feeling warmer. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Staying dry this evening with plenty of clear spells overnight. Some mist and fog patches developing under starry skies and feeling cooler here too. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Saturday:

Dry and fine to start with some sunshine. Clouding over from the west through the morning with some showery outbreaks in the far west during the afternoon. Feeling warm. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Scattered showers on Sunday, possibly heavy and thundery. A little drier on Monday though a strengthening breeze and outbreaks of rain on Tuesday. Generally staying warm, particularly in sunnier interludes.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

The period is likely to start off on a fairly unsettled note, with cloud, areas of rain and showers, but predominantly focussed in the west, whilst eastern areas remains somewhat drier. Showers are likely to spread to all areas towards the back end of next week, with a gradual drying trend from the west or southwest over the weekend (if not before). There are no particularly strong signals for the following week, which is fairly typical at this range at this time of year, with the chances of unsettled vs settled weather types being roughly equal. Temperatures are expected to be around to a little above average throughout, despite potentially starting off on the cool side.

Updated:

The signal for any meaningful high (or low) pressure regime to become established remains elusive, which suggests that the weather could remain fairly changeable through June, with variations on what this will look like across the country. Signals for both temperature and rainfall indicate a 'more-likely above average' overall. This suggests that further rain or showers are likely, possibly heavy or thundery at times. As is normal for the time of year there is likely to be some spells of warm sunshine between these showers.
