A wet and windy night but turning brighter tomorrow afternoon.

This Evening and Tonight:

A band of cloud and rain will sweep eastwards overnight, some of which may be heavy at times. Winds remaining light to moderate with a risk of some stronger winds along southern coasts. Feeling cooler, especially in wind. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Sunday:

Cloud and rain will sink southwards through the morning leaving a pleasant afternoon with sunny spells. Winds will ease, though a breeze will remain around coasts. Cooler than of late. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Turning colder with a patchy frost possible on Monday but largely dry and bright during the day. Damp on Tuesday and Wednesday with strengthening winds. Turning milder from midweek onwards.

These showers may be locally heavy, with thunderstorms possible. Ending the week and into the weekend, conditions likely remaining unsettled with showers or rain for many, also likely windy with a risk of coastal gales. This theme is predicted to continue, with southern and eastern areas likely drier, although a chance of showers or rain remains here. A continued risk of strong winds, with a low risk of gales, mainly in the west. Temperatures are expected to be generally above normal, although colder conditions may linger in the far north and northeast.

A general trend to less unsettled conditions is likely into April. Still some wetter weather at times, tending towards the south. However, most areas are likely to see some spells of dry weather, with potentially frost and some fog overnight. A possibility of strong winds at times, with temperatures generally close to average for the time of year.
