This Evening and Tonight:

Cloud breaking to leave some late sunshine this evening. Remaining dry overnight with clear spells and feeling colder than recent nights. A strong breeze this evening though winds falling much lighter by dawn. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Sunday:

Largely dry and bright to start with though showers feeing into western parts through the day. Winds strengthening, especially later in the day. Chilly in the brisk breeze. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Sunny spells and blustery showers on Monday, these occasionally heavy with hail and some hill snow. Drier from Tuesday though the odd shower still possible. Feeling chillier than of late.

Winds from the north or northwest are expected to affect the UK at the start of this period. Some showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, these heaviest across the north and northwest, though systems still likely reaching the south east on Thursday. Temperatures are expected to mostly be below normal edging toward average or just above into the new week. Through the weekend and into the new week a build of pressure will probably occur, meaning more in the way of dry weather across the UK as a whole. Some rain of light showers will still be possible at times, if these develop they will be more likely to affect the northwest.

Towards the end of April, high pressure will probably be close to the UK with a good deal of dry weather for many areas. Moving into May, these settled conditions will probably move northwards, with the driest weather across the northwest of the UK. If any more unsettled conditions develop these are more likely to affect south with a risk of some heavy rain or showers. Temperatures will probably be close to average overall, with warm days but some colder nights.
