Wales weather forecast

Headline:

Some rain overnight, then sunny spells and heavy showers Sunday.

This Evening and Tonight:

A fine evening across most of Wales with the best of any late sunshine in the northeast. However, soon turning wet in the south and rain edging northeast across the country overnight. Becoming breezier and much milder than last night. Minimum temperature 10 °C.

Sunday:

Rain gradually easing in northern areas then a day of sunny spells and scattered heavy showers. Thunderstorms with hail are possible, especially in the northeast. Coastal regions possibly turning drier. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

A chance of showers on Monday but these more isolated than on Sunday with some warm sunny spells too. Breezier on Tuesday and Wednesday with rain or showers.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

Sunny spells and showers across much of the UK at the start of this period, the showers perhaps heavy in places. Moving into the weekend, conditions will become more settled as high pressure builds in from the west. A few showers could still develop, particularly in the north, but for many it will become increasingly dry with spells of sunshine. For the week that follows, there are no particularly strong signals for a particular type of weather to dominate. Overall, the south of the UK will probably be drier, with focus for showers or rainfall tending to be across the north. Temperatures will probably be around normal or a little above for the time of year.

Updated:

Current indications are that the chances of settled and unsettled weather are fairly balanced for this period. As a result, there is a similar likelihood of either dry or wet conditions being the more prominent feature of the weather. Temperatures are most likely to be above normal.
