London & South East England weather forecast

Headline:

Sunny start before turning cloudier, then sunny spells later.

Today:

After a largely sunny start becoming cloudier as cloud spreads southeastwards, although possibly not reaching eastern Kent. This afternoon the cloud will break, allowing sunny spells to occur for many places. Feeling very warm, with light sea-breezes developing. Maximum temperature 26 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with often large amounts of cloud, but also some breaks allowing clear spells to occur, with the largest cloud breaks likely across Kent. Light winds for all areas. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Monday:

Areas of cloud will persist, especially across northern locations, but also long sunny spells will occur, these most likely across the south. Very warm and humid. Light sea-breezes will develop. Maximum temperature 27 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Becoming hot and humid with varying, often large, amounts of cloud, but also bright or sunny spells. Currently dry conditions look like prevailing, but heavy showers may develop Wednesday onwards.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

Probably still warm across the south at first. However, there is quite a large amount of uncertainty in how long this warm, settled weather will persist over the UK and it is very likely that conditions will transition back closer to average towards the end of next week. This transition brings with it the risk of some showers or longer periods of rain which may already be affecting some parts on Thursday, and potentially some thunderstorms too, particularly in the west but with many areas at risk. these more unsettled conditions could last through to the end of next week. However, the remainder of the period is more likely to be settled, especially across southern areas with temperatures slightly above average.

Updated:

Signals for this period are fairly weak and thus, it's difficult to say if any one type of weather pattern will dominate. As such, typical conditions for the UK are most probable with a mixture of weather types. All areas can expected to see some spells of drier, sunnier weather, but there will also be showers or longer spells of rain at times. Currently the only signals, weak as they are, hint that rain and showers will tend to be more biased towards the north and west, with any more prolonged drier interludes favouring the south. Temperatures are slightly more likely than normal to be above average, than below.
