A cloudy morning, with some outbreaks of rain, especially across southern areas. Rain gradually clearing into the afternoon, with most places becoming drier and brighter, with some sunny spells developing. A cool start, but temperatures should recover into the afternoon. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with clear spells this evening and overnight. Turning locally chilly in some prone rural spots, with a few mist and fog patches forming by dawn. Light winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Monday:

Early mist and fog patches soon clearing to give some good spells of sunshine. Turning cloudier in the afternoon, although staying dry, with some bright or sunny spells. Light winds. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Largely dry, cloudy and windy on Tuesday. A spell of wet and windy weather moves erratically southeastwards Wednesday, clearing to leave sunny spells and showers Thursday. Very mild at first.

A north/south split in weather conditions is likely over the latter part of next week, with rain and showers affecting the north, while the south holds on to drier weather. It may be windy at times, especially across the north and northwest, where gales are possible. Temperatures close to normal in the north and feeling rather mild in the south. Unsettled weather continues for many into the following week, with showers in northern areas likely to spread southwards. High pressure may develop across the UK throughout the rest of the period, with occasional frontal systems bringing some periods of rain. However, towards the end of the period, deep lower pressure is expected. Temperatures generally returning to above normal, however, cooler nights could make way for potential mist and fog.

This lower pressure regime is likely to bring periods of rain across the UK, but some drier spells and potential mist and fog can be expected too, most likely at the beginning of the period. Temperatures likely to remain above normal throughout.
