East of England weather forecast

The settled weather will continue with cold frosty nights.

This Evening and Tonight:

Clear spells likely, before cloud spreads south after midnight, along with the odd shower near the coast. Most parts staying dry, however. Feeling cold with mist and a sharp frost where clearer skies persist. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Variable cloud and sunny spells throughout. Most parts staying dry, although a few showers are possible again. Temperatures near normal, but cooler towards the coast, with an onshore breeze. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Little change with sunny spells and temperatures slowly recovering to normal after cold, and occasionally frosty or perhaps foggy starts. Scattered showers likely on Thursday, but otherwise largely dry.

UK long range weather forecast

At the start of this period, settled conditions are likely across much of the country with high pressure dominating. However, rain and stronger winds, will affect Northern Ireland and western Scotland on Sunday, spreading briefly to many areas on Monday, though the southeast will likely remain drier and brighter. Confidence decreases after this, however, it looks as though settled conditions will become more widespread again, with plenty of dry and bright weather. If any further outbreaks of rain do occur, they will most likely affect northwestern areas. Temperatures will probably be close to average for the time of year, with clearer skies causing warm temperatures by day but allowing temperatures to drop overnight, meaning frost is still possible and that mist and fog formation is likely, especially in the south.

Confidence remains low during this period, however, mixed and slowly evolving weather patterns, typical of spring, are most likely through the end of April and into May. Fine and dry weather is expected to be more prevalent on the whole, with fair-weather cloud and plenty of sunny spells, although all areas are likely to see some showers or longer spells of rain at times. Temperatures are likely to be close to average for the time of year, with warmer spells possible at times.
