Dry with broken cloud at first, but patchy rain arriving from the north later this evening. This cloud and rain clearing southern parts of the region by midnight. Clear skies following from the north and turning frosty in many places. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Sunday:

A much colder start than of late with some frost around. Otherwise a fine day with plenty of sunshine and average temperatures for the time of year. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Staying generally dry and settled with some sunshine at times, especially on Monday. More in the way of cloud is likely by midweek. Frosty nights with mist and fog patches.

On Thursday, cloud and rain are expected to move southeast, with clearer conditions ahead of this in the far south at first. A mixture of clear and sunny spells, with occasional wintry showers are expected in the far north, with a chance of rain later. For the rest of the period, settled conditions are expected to continue in many places, particularly in the south. As a result, dry conditions and sunny spells are likely, with a risk of overnight fog patches in the southeast. Changeable weather conditions, with cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle are expected in north, with strong winds and a risk of gales possible in north and northwest. Temperatures overall will be rather mild in the north and northwest, but closer to average in the south.

Frontal systems bringing rain and strong winds are expected in the northwest, perhaps spreading further into the southeast at times, although much of the south and southeast may stay largely dry.
