Headline:

Mostly dry with lengthy clear periods.

This Evening and Tonight:

Lengthy clear periods with any lingering showers becoming isolated, to give plenty of dry weather overnight. Winds are expected to ease overnight as temperatures dip into single figures. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Sunday:

Chance of some rain to affect the very far south during the morning, otherwise a largely dry day with sunny spells. Feeling a little warmer than Saturday with lighter winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Mostly dry on Monday with sunny spells. Tuesday becoming windy, chance of rain at times. Wednesday probably starting with heavy rain, this eventually clearing and drier and brighter conditions following.

UK long range weather forecast

A north/south split in weather conditions is likely over the latter part of next week, with rain and showers affecting the north, while the south holds on to drier weather. It may be windy at times, especially across the north and northwest, where gales are possible. Temperatures close to normal in the north and feeling rather mild in the south. Unsettled weather continues for many into the following week, with showers in northern areas likely to spread southwards. High pressure may develop across the UK throughout the rest of the period, with occasional frontal systems bringing some periods of rain. However, towards the end of the period, deep lower pressure is expected. Temperatures generally returning to above normal, however, cooler nights could make way for potential mist and fog.

Updated:

We may see lower pressure dominating through the rest of October. This lower pressure regime is likely to bring periods of rain across the UK, but some drier spells and potential mist and fog can be expected too, most likely at the beginning of the period. Temperatures likely to remain above normal throughout.
