- Head to a lifeguarded beach; check the RNLI lifeguarded beach tool
- Follow RNLI Float to Live advice if you find yourself struggling in the water
- Know what to do if you get caught in a rip current (RNLI)
- Check the tide times to avoid getting cut off by the tide coming in
- Call 999 and ask for the coastguard in an emergency

Clear skies through this evening, before becoming increasingly cloudy overnight with light, patchy rain spreading across the north. Drier further south, however with mist and fog developing by dawn. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Mist and fog lift, leaving a largely cloudy day, with patchy rain lingering in the north. Generally light winds but becoming breezy along the coast and across the Pennines later. Maximum temperature 15 °C.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:
Cloudy with patchy rain on Thursday, turning more persistent then clearing eastwards overnight into Friday. Rather breezy at times, and feeling colder on Saturday as winds turn north-westerly.
