Today:

Dry, bright start then rather cloudy with scattered showers developing, many of them over Stirlingshire and Perthshire. Remaining drier, brighter towards east coast. Quite windy, fresh to strong southeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain, occasionally heavy in the south and west. East becoming drier later with clear periods. Brisk southerly winds easing overnight. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Monday:

Variable amounts of cloud with some bright or sunny intervals and scattered showers, briefly heavy in places. Turning drier later. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Breezy and mostly cloudy on Tuesday, with rain at times. Bright spells and a chance of a few showers on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sunny spells for many with a few showers at the end of June and beginning of July, there is a low risk of heavy, and possibly thundery showers associated with these in the south and east of the UK. Winds are expected to be moderate or strong at times, especially in the northwest and near heavy showers. The unsettled conditions are likely to be confined to the north of the country through the later part of the period, perhaps bringing longer spells of rain to these areas. Southern areas likely staying drier, although with the risk of showers remaining. Temperatures are expected to be near normal, locally warm in parts of the east and southeast.

There is a good chance of more settled conditions prevailing through the middle and later part of July, although some northern areas may see spells of rain or showers at times, especially early in the period. These spells could extend across the country at times, but in general the south will see the best of the settled conditions. Temperatures are likely to be close to or a little above average initially but trending towards warmer conditions later, especially across the south.
