It will stay mostly cloudy through this evening and overnight with the chance of some patchy light rain or drizzle, mainly across Shetland. Some bright or clear spells possible. Moderate westerly winds. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Wednesday:

Another rather cloudy day and mostly dry, but again some patchy light rain or drizzle possible. Occasional bright, perhaps sunny spells developing. Light or moderate west or northwest winds. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

A cloudy start on Thursday with a little light rain or drizzle but brightening up across Shetland later. Bright or sunny intervals on Friday, but clouding over again on Saturday.

UK long range weather forecast

Settled conditions are likely to dominate throughout this period with plenty of dry and bright weather across the country, with the best of the sunshine expected across the west. Some low cloud is likely in eastern areas each day, but this will tend to burn back towards the North Sea coastline during the day. There is the very small risk of a shower in the south, and isolated patchy drizzle along eastern coasts. Temperatures will continue to be warmest towards the west, with an onshore wind making it feel cooler in eastern areas, especially the southeast where winds will be strongest. Towards the end of this period, the chance of showers in the south may start to increase. Further north, the generally fine pattern is likely to continue.

Into the second half of June, there is an increasing risk of rain or showers, perhaps thundery, affecting southern parts, while northern areas are more likely to stay predominantly dry. Temperatures are likely to be near or above average for many, however, the east may continue to see suppressed temperatures at times with an onshore flow. This flow may reduce at times which would see a recovery in temperatures in the east. Overall, winds are likely to be lighter towards the north, and slightly stronger towards the south.
