London & South East England weather forecast

Headline:

Warm sunny spells and staying dry.

Today:

Any early mist patches, or overnight cloud, soon clearing. Otherwise a fine and sunny start, but with some cloud bubbling up through the day. Staying dry with warm sunny spells and light winds. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Tonight:

Cloud will thicken from the west through the evening and overnight, along with outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. These easing as they reach eastern parts around dawn. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Saturday:

Morning cloud will gradually break to sunny spells, but perhaps also the odd shower. Cloud continuing to burn away through the afternoon, with more extensive sunshine developing. Maximum temperature 25 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Rather cloudy start Sunday, but this breaking to give some very warm sunshine. Turning fairly hot and quite humid Monday and Tuesday, with sunny spells, once any early mist clears.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

Predominantly fine and settled at first for much of the country and much warmer than we have seen in recent weeks. However, some thicker cloud could bring some outbreaks of mostly light to northwestern areas. There is some uncertainty in how long this warm, settled weather will persist over the UK and there is a chance that conditions could transition back closer to average towards the end of next week. This transition brings with it the risk of some showers or longer periods of rain and potentially some thunderstorms, particularly in the south, from the end of next week. However, the remainder of the period is more likely to be settled with temperatures above average.

Updated:

Signals for this period are fairly weak and thus, it's difficult to say if any one type of weather pattern will dominate. As such, typical conditions for the UK are most probable with a mixture of weather types. All areas can expected to see some spells of drier, sunnier weather, but there will also be showers or longer spells of rain at times. Currently the only signals, weak as they are, hint that rain and showers will tend to be more biased towards the north and west, with any more prolonged drier interludes favouring the south. Temperatures are slightly more likely than normal to be above average, than below.
