After a cold start with some frost, it will be a fine day with plenty of sunshine. Somewhat colder than of late but this offset by sunshine and light winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly clear skies continuing through this evening and overnight. This will allow temperatures to fall below freezing for many with a frost developing. Isolated fog patches forming by the morning. Minimum temperature -4 °C.

Monday:

Mist and fog generally clearing during the morning leaving another dry and bright day with plenty of sunshine in most places. Winds staying light and temperatures around average for February. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Generally dry and settled with some sunshine at times. Cloudier periods are also likely, perhaps giving a few spots of rain. Winds remaining light with some overnight frost and fog.

A mixture of clear and sunny spells, with occasional wintry showers are expected in the far north, with a chance of rain later. For the rest of the period, settled conditions are expected to continue in many places, particularly in the south. As a result, dry conditions and sunny spells are likely, with a risk of overnight fog patches in the southeast. Changeable weather conditions, with cloud and outbreaks of rain and drizzle are expected in north, with strong winds and a risk of gales possible in north and northwest. Temperatures overall will be rather mild in the north and northwest, but closer to average in the south.

During the period, generally settled weather conditions are expected across the UK. Frontal systems bringing rain and strong winds are expected in the northwest, perhaps spreading further into the southeast at times, although much of the south and southeast may stay largely dry. Temperatures overall will be above normal, with a small chance of colder conditions.
