A cold and locally frosty start on Friday, then dry with sunny spells. Turning breezier on Saturday with showery rain possible overnight. Cloudy with showers on Sunday. Turning somewhat warmer.

This pattern will probably persist through the rest of this period, although by late September there is a chance that more unsettled conditions may begin to develop.
