Largely dry initially but showers developing through the night, perhaps merging in places to give some locally longer spells of rain. Breezy with winds strengthening throughout, becoming particularly strong over high ground. Temperatures around average. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Saturday:

Winds easing gradually through the morning Saturday. Occasional showers for most, becoming more frequent later. By the evening showers more confined to the east with some clearer spells further west. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Cold northerly breeze developing Sunday, some showers later, perhaps wintry over hills. Clearing overnight. Early frost Monday then mostly dry and bright. Lighter winds. Frosty start Tuesday, turning wet later.

Becoming windy with a risk of gales for some western coasts. Remaining unsettled thought the start of April at first, with showers and longer spells of rain likely. Southern and eastern areas are likely to be drier, although a chance of showers or spells of rain remain likely here. Strong winds are probable, with a low risk of gales mainly across western parts. Into early April, more settled conditions and drier interludes become increasingly likely, although a chance of wetter weather tending toward the south. Temperatures are generally above average, though colder conditions remain possible in the far north and northeast at first.
