A cool, dry and sunny start on Sunday morning. The cloud will bubble up through the afternoon, although it should remain dry, with sunny spells throughout. Feeling warmer than on Saturday, with lighter winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with clear spells this evening and overnight. Turning locally chilly in some prone rural spots, with a few mist and fog patches forming by dawn. Light winds. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Monday:

Early mist and fog patches soon clearing to give some good spells of sunshine. Turning cloudier in the afternoon, although staying dry, with warm sunny spells. Light winds. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

A spell of wet and windy weather moves erratically southeastwards Tuesday. Further spell of rain, locally heavy, is likely across all parts Wednesday. Rain clearing to blustery showers Thursday. Mild.

A north/south split in weather conditions is likely over the latter part of next week, with rain and showers affecting the north, while the south holds on to drier weather. It may be windy at times, especially across the north and northwest, where gales are possible. Temperatures close to normal in the north and feeling rather mild in the south. Unsettled weather continues for many into the following week, with showers in northern areas likely to spread southwards. High pressure may develop across the UK throughout the rest of the period, with occasional frontal systems bringing some periods of rain. However, towards the end of the period, deep lower pressure is expected. Temperatures generally returning to above normal, however, cooler nights could make way for potential mist and fog.

We may see lower pressure dominating through the rest of October. This lower pressure regime is likely to bring periods of rain across the UK, but some drier spells and potential mist and fog can be expected too, most likely at the beginning of the period. Temperatures likely to remain above normal throughout.
