UK long range weather forecast

Sunshine and showers can be expected Wednesday as rain generally clears away from the southeast, while heavier and possibly thundery showers may be expected in the northwest. Winds moderate to fresh, and temperatures trending slightly above average. Unsettled weather continues for many, with showers affecting northern areas and likely to spread southwards. Temperatures turning normal or cool, and becoming windier with gales possible in places. Confidence remains low throughout the rest of this period. High pressure may develop across the UK, with likely occasional frontal systems bringing periods of rain. However, towards the end of the period, deep lower pressure may be expected, with temperatures generally returning to above normal, however, cooler nights make way for potential mist and fog.

Updated:

We may expect to see lower pressure dominating through the rest of October; however, confidence remains low through this period. A lower pressure regime is likely to bring periods of rain across the UK, however some drier spells and potential mist and fog can be expected too, most likely at the beginning of the period. Temperatures likely to remain above normal throughout.
