This Evening and Tonight:

Bright spells and showers continuing into the evening. Thickening cloud overnight will bring outbreaks of showery rain which will be heavy at times, as well as freshening southwesterly winds. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Wednesday:

Cloudy start with rain from the west clearing Caithness towards midday. Then a mixture of bright spells and scattered showers, a few heavy. Strong westerly winds so feeling quite cool. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Scattered heavy, blustery showers Thursday with strong westerly winds. Windy with showers at first on Friday but settling down into the weekend as things turn drier, brighter and less windy.

Sunday is likely to bring an increased risk of rain and showers, especially across central and eastern areas. Moderate to fresh northerly winds will make for cool temperatures in the north and east, with elsewhere remaining around average for the time of year. Into the beginning of next week it will likely be mainly fine and dry, but occasional rain and showers for some. Feeling warm in any sunshine. Towards the bank holiday weekend this pattern is likely to continue, with some dry weather and sunny spells, but also some more unsettled and wet conditions developing for some parts of the UK. Any stronger winds likely easing and temperatures likely remaining around average for most.

Winds will probably be generally light, although the odd spell of stronger winds will still be possible. Temperatures possibly warmer than average, although colder conditions could extend from the northeast at times.
