Early showers, becoming mainly dry and bright.

Today:

A rather cloudy start with fairly frequent showers, particularly across the Western Highlands. Most of the showers dying out by mid-afternoon with bright and sunny spells. Breezy, winds strong at times around the west coast. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Tonight:

Dry at first then rain moving into the Hebrides and west coast with strong southerly winds. The rain pushing northeast overnight, turning drier and clearer again by dawn. Minimum temperature 8 °C.

Thursday:

Bright with occasional showers, the best of any sunshine around Inverness and Nairn. Breezy, winds strong a times around the west coast. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

Bright with scattered showers on Friday, merging into longer spells of rain in the evening. Bright spells and occasional showers on Saturday. Showers, perhaps longer spells of rain on Sunday.

UK long range weather forecast

On Sunday and into the start of next week, southern parts of the UK likely staying mostly fine and dry with light winds. Still a chance of showers, and a low risk that some of these will be heavy at times. Further north it is likely to be cloudier and breezier, particularly around coasts, with showers that could merge into some longer spells of rain. Temperatures close to average, but perhaps below average in the northwest, though it will still feel warm in the sunshine. Towards the end of next week, rain or showers are possible, most likely in the northeast by this stage, where it will be breezy. Drier further southwest with lighter winds. Most areas becoming mainly dry through the end of May.

Into June, temperatures are likely to be above average across the south but closer to average further north. Toward mid-June it may turn less settled across the north of the UK, bringing rain or showers, while the south may remain largely fine.
