A bright day with sunny spells and scattered sleet or snow showers. Feeling cold in the fresh northerly winds. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

A cold start on Monday but then dry and sunny for most of the day. Bands of rain pushing in from the southwest Tuesday and Wednesday, becoming milder.

Ending the week and into the weekend, conditions likely remaining unsettled with showers or rain for many, also likely windy with a risk of coastal gales. This theme is predicted to continue, with southern and eastern areas likely drier, although a chance of showers or rain remains here. A continued risk of strong winds, with a low risk of gales, mainly in the west. Temperatures are expected to be generally above normal, although colder conditions may linger in the far north and northeast.

However, most areas are likely to see some spells of dry weather, with potentially frost and some fog overnight. A possibility of strong winds at times, with temperatures generally close to average for the time of year.
