London & South East England weather forecast

Headline:

Dry tonight, then unsettled for the rest of the week.

This Evening and Tonight:

Temperatures falling away under clearer skies with a patchy frost in rural spots. Cloud thickening from the west but remaining dry. Southerly wind increasing through the night, strong in coastal areas by dawn. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Tuesday:

Dry initially, then bands of rain move eastwards through the day, turning heavy at times. Perhaps brightening up from the west later as the rain clears. Breezy, feeling milder overnight. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Cloudy Wednesday, with outbreaks of rain from midday, showers later. Sunny spells Thursday with locally thundery showers. Heavy rain overnight, clearing Friday afternoon to heavy showers. Windy and mild throughout.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

Cloudy for most with showers on Saturday, possibly merging into longer periods of rain. The best of any brightness is likely to be in the southwest but here too there will likely be showers, perhaps heavy with a risk of thunder. Winds light to moderate, perhaps strong in the far north and around some coasts in the southwest. As we move further into April we are likely to see a gradual trend toward more settled conditions with perhaps the greater chance of drier conditions across the north, albeit with some overnight frost. Further south, there is a higher likelihood of further wet weather at times. Overall, temperatures probably averaging out to be close to normal.

Updated:

Likely a continuation of the trend toward more settled conditions, with rain-bearing weather systems more likely to affect southern areas from time to time. However, most areas are likely to see some spells of dry weather, with potential for frost and some fog overnight, this most likely in the north. A possibility of strong winds at times, with temperatures generally close to average for the time of year.
