Cloud and rain across much of the region will clear to the southeast by late morning. Bright or sunny spells then developing, with isolated showers mainly affecting coastal areas. Showers may turn wintry over hills. Breezy and feeling cooler. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Mostly dry, although, isolated showers may continue overnight across East Anglia and North Sea coastal areas. Clearing skies across the region will see temperatures fall with frost patches forming. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Monday:

Cold and frosty start in places. Then fine and sunny with light winds. Largely dry away from windward coasts, where a few daytime showers may push inland. Chilly again overnight. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Fine start Tuesday before cloud and rain, heavy at times, push eastwards. Cloudy Wednesday, with rain arriving later. Sunny spells Thursday with blustery showers, some heavy or thundery. Mild.

Ending the week and into the weekend, conditions likely remaining unsettled with showers or rain for many, also likely windy with a risk of coastal gales. This theme is predicted to continue, with southern and eastern areas likely drier, although a chance of showers or rain remains here. A continued risk of strong winds, with a low risk of gales, mainly in the west. Temperatures are expected to be generally above normal, although colder conditions may linger in the far north and northeast.

A general trend to less unsettled conditions is likely into April. Still some wetter weather at times, tending towards the south. However, most areas are likely to see some spells of dry weather, with potentially frost and some fog overnight. A possibility of strong winds at times, with temperatures generally close to average for the time of year.
